Be Kind 5K

Rosemary “Rosie” Billquist is shown sitting on the bench she created and donated to UPMC Chautauqua WCA for patients to use in front of the hospital in Jamestown while waiting for their ride. This photo was taken shortly before her untimely death.

The Be Kind 5 K fun run/walk endows a scholarship fund created at WCA Foundation in Rosie Billquist’s memory.  The name of the race comes from the quote Rosie painted on a bench she created for patients to use outside UPMC Chautauqua WCA where she worked.  It reads:  “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”  Rosie was a joyful, kind-hearted individual who loved to run and to help others.  Thank you for doing the same by supporting this event.
