The pandemic has masked many fundraising events, but not the spirit of our supporters. LINKS Charity Golf Pro-Am was officially canceled, but Moon Brook Country Club facilitated a masked and socially distanced day of golf for previous golfers of the tournament. Donors were exceptionally generous with their contributions to help LINKS Charity fight breast cancer as they have for the last 29 years. The 30th anniversary of the event is already being planned for 2021.
The Be Kind 5K event to support the Rosemary “Rosie” Billquist Memorial Scholarship Fund went virtual this year. While the donation and participation levels didn’t meet the in-person run/walk, COVID-19 did not dampen the spirit of Jamie Billquist or the fund’s other supporters. They will be back in full force next year.
Likewise, the Shades of Pink Golf Tournament to fight breast cancer through grants from the Anne Sischo’s Shades of Pink fund, the Bowling Over Breast Cancer fundraiser to support grants from the Famed in Pink Bowling Over Breast Cancer Fund and the Rapaport Fund’s BOO! To Breast Cancer event have all been cancelled this year due to COVID-19 safety restrictions. However, donors have not forgotten these funds that fight cancer. Volunteers from each fund are working on plans to present their entertaining and meaningful fundraising events in 2021.
