National Doctors Day, celebrated all around the world, gives each of us an opportunity to recognize the physicians who make a difference in our lives every day. Through a special donation to the Grateful Patient Fund at WCA Foundation, community members can pay tribute to any of the remarkable doctors who serve them and support the services they receive at UPMC Chautauqua WCA.
In the United States, March 30 is the official National Doctors Day. Saying thank you to health care professionals isn’t limited to that day at WCA Foundation. Any day of the year the foundation will welcome gifts to help purchase necessary surgical and medical equipment for UPMC Chautauqua WCA through the Grateful Patient Fund. In addition, those individuals – doctors, or other health care professionals – will receive a copy of the note sent to honor the health care professional. The tax-exempt gift amount is always kept confidential.
Many years ago, Dr. Wilson W. Shaw Jr. gave life-changing assistance to Kurt Pfaff of Lakewood after a tragic accident. Years later, Pfaff repaid Dr. Shaw for his expertise and friendship with gratitude by starting The Grateful Patient Fund. With the assistance of Shaw’s widow, Shirley, and daughters, the fund became a reality.
To honor those who care for you, send your donation to WCA Foundation, The Grateful Patient Fund, P.O.
