Rapaport Fund’s Boo to Breast Cancer Becomes a Gala

With boundless energy and a personal and public drive to fight breast cancer, Mary Rapaport began fund-raising projects for WCA Foundation in 2016.  She was a participant in the House Tour of that year which featured their family home in Greenhurst and 59 Lucy Lane, Lucille Ball’s childhood home in Celoron, which they have restored.

Plans were in full swing for the Boo to Breast Cancer bash she planned for the fall when she and her husband, Bill, started the Rapaport Fund.  The proceeds of the successful event, which has become an annual event, were added to their fund.  With plans to make the event a fun-filled gala this October 27th at Chautauqua Suites, Mary Rapaport has found time to participate in and support other fund-raising efforts that help UPMC Chautauqua WCA fight public health diseases.

This winter she produced 35 baskets to be auctioned at the Strike-Out Heart Disease campaign’s fund-raiser, the SOUPER Bowl.  Thanks to the generosity of the event’s patrons and hospital employees, the auction and event were a great success which will benefit the heart disease and breast cancer services of UPMC Chautauqua WCA.
