The end of 2020 approaches with memories of a year of challenges around the world and in many facets of our lives. WCA Foundation not only survived and thrived through the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic but the health care ones as well. The Foundation has been a conduit for the outpouring of support for the healthcare front-line workers that serve this community daily.
In the WCA Foundation 2020 Annual Report, the activities of the Foundation are outlined. Most amazing is the $348,000 suite of equipment that will save many lives in our community by diagnosing urologic and bladder cancers at very early stages. This grant was secured from the Patient Care Fund which targets areas of healthcare needs that are above and beyond the annual budget of UPMC Chautauqua, which WCA Foundation solely supports. In total, WCA Foundation supplied more that $600,000 in grants to the hospital to purchase needed equipment and supply educational assistance to its employees.
It’s been an amazingly challenging year for all. With the help of our donors – large and small – WCA Foundation will be able to continue this type of historic support for the healthcare of the patients of UPMC Chautauqua. With deep gratitude for your ongoing support, we believe together we can make a difference.
